China Trip - Xian

On our way to and from PL we spent time in Xian as it was our transfer city from train to bus and vise versa. We found ourselves excited by train travel and its great combination of not having to drive and experiencing the journey. Of course for me it has the added bonus of being grounded as I am not particually a fan of flying... we balanace each other out with Dave's obvious enjoyment of flying. Oh how I wish travel by train was affordable and had more route options here in the States!

We spent time touring the Terracotta Warriors. Budding trees, bushes, and flowers surrounded the museums, welcoming in spring.

Dave clearly enjoying himself!

On our return trip through Xian, we spent the afternoon in the city and did some shopping at Hui Market. It is a wonderful market tucked in the alleyways between buildings.

More Xian pictures on the right...
